Responsible Gambling
JackpotMegaBet is written for adults aged 18 or older. If you are younger, leave this site now.
Gambling should be entertainment, not a way to make money. Most people who bet regularly lose money over the long run. If you bet, bet only what you can afford to lose entirely without impact on your rent, food, school fees, or family.
Warning signs
Gambling may be becoming a problem for you if:
- You spend more than you planned, repeatedly.
- You chase losses — placing a bigger bet to "win back" what you lost.
- You hide bets, deposits, or losses from your partner or family.
- You borrow money to gamble — from friends, family, loan apps, or SACCOs.
- You feel anxious, guilty, or depressed when you bet or when you try to stop.
- You miss work, skip meals, or lose sleep because of betting.
- You think about gambling most of the day.
If any of the above sounds like you or someone close to you, you are not alone. Help is free and confidential.
Self-check: brief gambling-harm screen
Answer yes or no to each question. Three or more "yes" answers suggests you should talk to someone.
- Have you ever felt you needed to bet more and more money to get the same excitement?
- Have you lied to someone important to you about how much you gamble?
- Have you tried to cut back and failed?
- Have you gambled to escape problems or relieve a bad mood?
- After losing, have you gone back another day to try to win it back?
Tools that help
- Deposit limits. Every licensed bookmaker in our target countries offers daily, weekly, and monthly deposit caps. Set one before you deposit — the first time, and every time you raise it.
- Self-exclusion. Ask the bookmaker to block your account for 6 months, 12 months, or permanently. They must do this on request under the licence conditions in Kenya (BCLB), Nigeria (NLRC), Ghana, Tanzania, and Uganda.
- Reality checks. Enable in-session time reminders in the app settings.
- Device-level blocks. Apps like Gamban and BetBlocker can block betting sites on your phone and laptop.
